Eat, Stay, Play: Charleston, SC

Posted by Rebecca Vaughn on

First up in our Eat, Stay, Play series is Charleston, South Carolina, because it’s one of our favorite cities and a place we all have called home in the past!

Charleston has a ton to offer so this was a really hard one to narrow down to just 3 recommendations, but here we go!

Eat: The Obstinate Daughter - Located on Sullivan’s Island, this is the perfect spot for brunch! Walk over to the beach after you're done enjoying mimosas in this cozy coastal favorite. They also have a yummy dinner menu, so you can fit it into your itinerary for day or night. Make a reservation if you have a big group; this popular spot fills up fast!

Stay: The Dewberry - Located one block from King Street, this is one of the chicest hotels on the Peninsula. They have multiple dining and social options, so don’t be shy to explore the mid-century modern beauty. The Citrus Club on the roof has incredible views of the city and harbor. Even if you're not staying here, the rooftop bar is a happy hour must with their Instagram-worthy cocktails. Schedule a spa treatment before a night on the town for a fully self indulgent experience. The guest rooms are decorated to the nines with crystal chandeliers and floral moments, and check out that bathroom!

Play: The beach & Firefly Distillery - Like we said, narrowing down the recommendations was really hard so we're doing a two-for-one in this category.

First, of course if you're in Charleston you've got to get some time on the beach. Head to Sullivan's Island or Folly Beach to soak up the sun! Both have miles of beach but totally different vibes: if you're looking for a quieter scene, choose Sullivan's, and if you're wanting a bit more of a party, hit up Folly. Folly also a long pier you can walk down to catch the sunset out in the ocean!

Second is the Firefly Distillery! We're all familiar with their sweet tea vodka but they also have other flavors like ruby red grapefruit and lemonade. The stunning distillery is located in North Charleston and is only a 15 minute drive from downtown. If the weather ruins your beach plans, sampling vodka makes for a pretty fun backup activity in our humble opinion!

Chucktown has too much to offer to include in one blog post, so you’re sure to have an incredibly memorable trip, no matter what you do. Just be sure to bring the bachelorette party along with you All Boxed Up!
